Here are my rec shots, we will be shooting our music video in school, but we will be making it look like an office, as that is what we intended to do, getting hold of an actual office. We will be using divider boards to make this work. Looking further into choosing our film location, we may film the video in the reception of our school as it is a bigger space and looks more like an office environment.

The X Factor Machine 

According to Adorno and Horkheimer the way X factor works is almost machine like, The contestant begin the show in a completely different style to that of there end result, for example JLS began as an completely different style to what they are now, this is because of the X factor machine.

Feed back

During today lessons we were asked to talk to the rest of our class about what plan to feature in our music video. I described our idea of going against the lyrics of the song and do this by filming our footage in an office, everyone agreed this would be a better idea than going for the obvious like filming in a woods or park. 

I also spoke about how using my brother and his friends that are all roughly 16 years old, because they will look the right age for our band members that we are aiming for. And they also like to play around with video cameras and have experience with editing programs. 

We should also make sure we have a lot of footage that we can play around with, so of one shot doesn't look good we can use another shot, we can also get different angles and point of views. 

All our feedback is very helpful and we always need to know what the people around us and our teachers think of our ideas

What is a Digipack?

A Digipack is a cheaper version of an album which are used for either environmental or promotional purposes . The codes and conventions of a Digipack is pretty much the same as an ordinary jeweled case album, the obvious things for the this are title of the album, the name of the band, the record label,barcode and distribution rights, other things include images and a list of the songs.

There are several reasons why an artist might choose to use a digipack rather than a jeweled case album, one it may be cheaper to manufacture, to it might be better for the environment , three it could be used in promotional purchases such as a give away in a magazine and four it may be cheaper to purchase and easier to recycle. Digipacks can sometimes have advantages  such as easier to recycle, they sometimes come with exclusive content and they sometime are slightly cheaper

Today we finished our mood board and have a better idea of what we want to happen and after talking to our teacher we had some rough ideas that may be better than our original plans. We now have the option of going against the lyrics with the visuals as filming inside a park would be to obvious and boring for people to watch, we will be setting it in an office instead.

B filming it in an office, we can make it comical for the audience and for the actors and as we film it. But we still don’t actually have an exact storyline as to what is actually going to happen in our footage so this is the next step for us, we also need to start thinking about who will be staring in our video and if we go with the office scene, where are we actually going to get an office from.
